Subject: Governor’s Repeal of Travel Ban
On September 14, Governor Newsom signed SB447, repealing AB1887, the prohibition of travel to various states using state funds.
With this legislation signed into law by the governor, university business travel to all states is now allowable using state funds. Any travel that took place prior to the September 14 effective date will still need to comply with the previous restrictions. While the legislation opens up opportunities for faculty, staff and students to travel, discretion should be used to minimize impact on our limited resources, due to the current budget shortfall the campus is working to mitigate.
We are working with the Chancellor’s Office to make updates in Concur to reflect this change. In the meantime, please select "No" on the field "Are you traveling to a banned state?" located on the Request Header in Concur for travel on or after September 14.
