RE: Campus Alert: Air Quality Incident

Dear Employees,

Currently, Sonoma State is observing air quality levels that are less than ideal for outdoor work. At this time, the air quality index (AQI) has been at or above 150 based on the measurement tools the university uses when considering mitigation measures. SSU is not under threat from any regional wildfires.

For those employees with respiratory sensitivities or who primarily work outdoors, N95 masks are now available at the Seawolf Service Center.

The use of N95 masks is optional for employees at this time.

Instructions on how to appropriately use N95 masks are available at the distribution site.

Employees are encouraged to notify their supervisor if they observe noted decreases in air quality. Supervisors and managers should report any changes to conditions to emergency@sonoma.edu.

We will continue to provide updates via the SSU website and email.
